One day is a city-only introduction. Two days is the balanced first visit: city heritage first, then Ellora and Ghrishneshwar. A third day can be Daulatabad; Ajanta needs one extra full day beyond this guide.

Keep this block for food, traffic, a hotel break and any monument queue. Heritage days work better when the middle of the day is not packed with another long drive.

Aurangabad Caves
Use the cooler part of the afternoon for the city-side caves. If current access or daylight is limited, end earlier rather than forcing a rushed visit.

Day 1 follows the city route. Day 2 is deliberately a single north-west heritage direction: Ellora first, then Ghrishneshwar. Daulatabad is saved for a third day so Ellora is not reduced to a rushed stop.
