Safari session time, entry gate, visitor ID rules, vehicle/guide arrangements and weather can change. Book only through the official portal, save your permit, and use Feedback / Report an issue if you find an update.
RouteSathi guide update: October 2026 · The official permit and forest instructions are final before every safari.
TADOBA–ANDHARI TIGER RESERVE · MAHARASHTRA
Tadoba, planned like a forest trip.
Come for the dry-deciduous forest, birds, deer, tracks and quiet safari time—not a tiger guarantee. A confirmed official permit and a stay near its reporting gate make the trip smooth.
01Official permit firstBook the safari only through the authorised Tadoba portal. Confirm date, guest details, gate and session before selecting a resort.
02Stay by your gateMoharli, Kolara and Navegaon are separate access sides. Your confirmed permit—not a generic hotel offer—decides the sensible base.
03Forest, not guaranteeA good safari includes habitat, birds and animal behaviour. A tiger, leopard or any animal sighting cannot be promised.
FIRST, CHOOSE YOUR PACE
How many Tadoba nights do you really have?
Tadoba is not a same-day attraction. Reach your gate-side stay the day before a morning safari. Two nights give two confirmed safari windows; three nights give a calmer forest-focused break.
Maharashtra Tourism identifies Tadoba–Andhari as a major tiger reserve, and the official Tadoba portal warns travellers to use only authorised safari booking. This guide keeps gate, permit and rest time ahead of rushed sightseeing.
PLAN A · TWO NIGHTS
The right first Tadoba trip
One full day gives two safari windows when both are confirmed. The exact reporting and safari time comes from the live permit—do not use a fixed old screenshot or a reseller’s message.
2 safarisRecommended minimum
Daytime arrival→Permit + ID check→Morning safari→Rest→Evening safari
ARRIVAL
Reach the base that matches your permit
Arrive before dark if possible. Check every guest name, date, safari session and reporting gate on the official permit; a stay confirmation is not the same thing as a safari permit.
Carry the visitor identification required by the current booking. Use the printed permit timing and gate instructions as final; forest rules and arrangements can change.
Add another safari only when it is already confirmed and your onward road or train plan remains comfortable. Do not risk a rushed transfer after a forest morning.
Use the additional night for one or two extra confirmed safari sessions, a relaxed arrival or recovery time. Different gates should only be used when every permit, stay and transfer is genuinely compatible.
3–4 safarisSlow safari plan
DAY 1–2 · Settle + two safaris
Day 1Gate-side arrivalCheck official permit details, ID requirements and reporting point; sleep early.
Day 2 AMFirst confirmed safariReport as the permit says and follow live forest instructions.
Day 2 PMSecond confirmed safariKeep the midday block for rest; no cross-gate travel.
DAY 3–4 · One more forest day
Day 3 AMThird safari, if confirmedUse official permit details—not a resort’s verbal assurance.
Day 3 PMOptional fourth safariOnly if a valid permit and enough rest time make it sensible.
Day 4Return calmlyPlan onward travel after breakfast or after a confirmed final safari.
Tadoba safari planning is not a package-shopping race. First get the actual official permit and details; then choose a stay close enough for a calm early report.
4 checksBefore booking stay
01 · OFFICIAL PORTAL
Book your safari safely
Use the government-authorised MyTadoba website; avoid sites promising direct gypsy or guaranteed sightings.
02 · PERMIT DETAILS
Read every field
Confirm the date, session, gate, guest names and current identification requirements before paying for travel.
03 · STAY MATCH
Choose the correct base
Book the room after you know the reporting side. Gates are not automatically quick transfers from each other.
Ethical safari:Never ask for animal feeding, loud calls, off-route driving or a “guaranteed tiger” arrangement. The forest and current official rules decide the experience.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT BASE
Gate first, hotel second.
These are practical map references, not a promise of safari availability. Your official permit shows the reporting point that should guide your stay choice.
COMMON ACCESS · PERMIT DEPENDENT
Moharli side
A well-known Tadoba access side. Choose a stay here only when it matches the gate and session on your confirmed official permit.
Chandrapur is a practical rail-side reference for many travellers. Keep your rail transfer separate from safari reporting, especially after a morning drive.
