TRAVEL ESSENTIALS

Book smarter.
Travel calmer.

These are simple travel basics for Madhya Pradesh. Your city guide gives the route; this page helps you avoid common mistakes before you pay or leave home.

01 · TICKETS & PERMITS

Book from the right place.

Use official websites or official counters for monuments, safari permits and transport. A hotel confirmation, WhatsApp message or social-media post is not automatically an entry permit.

  • Read date, visitor name and reporting point.
  • Save the confirmation offline.
  • Check current closure/timing before leaving.
02 · STAY AREA

Location beats a cheap room.

Choose a stay near your next morning’s starting point: city centre for heritage/food, gate-side for safari, and near the planned route for early temples.

  • Check Maps route at your actual travel time.
  • Ask about late arrival and parking before booking.
  • Keep one night near a safari gate before morning entry.
03 · LOCAL TRAVEL

Do not zig-zag.

Group places by area. Ask hotel staff for a realistic pickup time, then keep buffer for traffic, queues and parking.

  • Save offline map of the city/forest route.
  • Agree on cab/auto fare before a long ride.
  • Do not plan last attraction at closing time.
04 · WEATHER & CROWD

Check the week, not old photos.

Heat, monsoon, fog, festival crowds and forest closures can change the whole plan. Check the current forecast and official update close to your travel date.

  • Carry water, sun protection and comfortable footwear.
  • Keep rain protection during monsoon.
  • Have one flexible indoor/nearby backup plan.
05 · FAMILY & SOLO

Plan for the slowest person.

For family travel, keep fewer stops and a midday rest. For solo travel, share day plan and stay details with someone you trust.

  • Do not force long steps/treks on everyone.
  • Keep phone charged and power bank ready.
  • Use well-reviewed transport and stay options.
06 · MONEY & DOCUMENTS

Keep a small buffer.

Tickets may not include guide, vehicle, food, parking or activity charges. Carry the ID required by the booking and use secure payment methods.

  • Keep ticket screenshot + ID accessible.
  • Do not share OTP or card PIN.
  • Keep emergency cash for a local ride/food.

THE 5-MINUTE CHECK

Before you leave your hotel.

  1. Today’s opening time, closure and weather checked?
  2. Correct ticket, visitor ID and gate/entry point confirmed?
  3. Map route saved and cab/vehicle plan clear?
  4. Water, charged phone and payment backup ready?
  5. One person knows your plan, especially for a long drive, trek or safari?
